Jungle Blue

A musical film by jacques Goldstein
70'

With 4 Walls - Sainkho Namtchylak (+ Hamid Drake et William Parker) - Jerry Gonzalez y los Piratas del Flamenco - Le Sacre du Tympan - Justo Valdez y la Rumba Palenquera - Trio Sylvie Courvoisier (Mark Feldman et Anja Lechner) - Paul Bley, Soweto Kinch Quartet featuring Abram Wilson - Sunra Akestra & Dj Spooky - Kamil El Zabar

A journey into the heart of jazz and the Parisian suburbs during the BANLIEUE BLEUE Jazz Festival. Arranged like a jazz improvisation around six concert excerpts, the film is the opportunity to revisit the urban jungle and its architecture, landscape and ethnic mix. Each concert thus becomes this jungle's musical interpretation. The militant artists' music makes reference to a chaotic global situation. One finds this chaos in all jungles, those in all the world's suburbs. Through music, we revisit Paris's eastern suburbs, reinventing and re-appropriating them.
