A building on the rue Durkheim in Paris created by the architect, Francis Soler was one of the first apartment blocks erected next to the French National Library. This complex of 93 dwellings accomodates public housing applicants having made two-part venture : to live in a neighborohood under construction, a open-air building site, but also to live in an original architectural creation. The first inhabitants had to learn to live in this lodging, building and neighborohood and to appropriate these places which were the bearers of their own architectural, urban and economic history.
