"Around Music - Écouter le Monde" DVD boxset comprises 12 rare films praised at the occasion of influential international festivals such as the Jean Rouch festival in Paris.

These works take us from nomadic areas of african Sahel to isolated country sides of Europe, in small towns bars or in an exiguous room of a romanian rural home where women sing while sitting with the dead. The camera enters the bush or the dense african metropolis which both offer a continuous musical spree. It question what is at stake in Bamako recording studios or unveil the backstage proceedings of a parisian theatre producing exotic shows.
