Sainkho is an exceptional singer from the desert of Tuva, a small country lying on the border of Mongolia and Siberia. She has created a style combining the traditions of her nomadic past, folklore, guttural singing and shamanism with influences in the current world of drum n’ bass, hip hop and contemporary jazz.That night, Sainkho played with William Parker (bass) and Hamid Drake (drums).
