" I filmed the concert of Mohammed Jimmy Mohammed Trio in April 2006 without planning to turn it into a film. Han Bennink had already played with Jimmy in Addis-Abeba, and made a special trip from the US to do this concert with them. An excerpt appearred as part of a special event honoring Ethipia. In December of that same year, we learned of Jimmy's death. I decided then that I would complete this film in his memory. It pays homage to a great singer and documents an exceptionnal concert I wanted to capture." Stéphane Jourdain
DJ Spooky and Matthew Shipp represent the quintessence of contemporary New York sound. Their music is both sophisticated and untamed, a subtle blend of free jazz and hip hop.
Tom Zé / Dada Brasil strives to transcend the limits of the conventional concert film, music documentary and essay – in keeping with Tom Zé’s free-spirited, outlandish nature.
"OUI, l’homme est un OUI. Mais c’est un NON aussi. Non, au mépris, Non, au meurtre de ce qu’il y a de plus humain dans l’humain : la liberté." Franz Fanon
